60s inspired Melbourne wedding

“Amazing team! A few days before our wedding I was received a bunch of calls from all different suppliers asking questions I had answered months before when I received a call from GDR I held my breathe, not only did she reassured me everything was on track and handled she also gave me the most beautiful and human to human pep talk! These guys are a class act! I 100% would hire them again! Stevie who delivered and set everything up was so professional and helpful and definitely worked within our schedule. She even helped my mum who was setting up our own archway, completely above and beyond. Thank you so much for helping me add some extra magic to our day. You guys rock!”

Stacey + Ben are really so cute! When we saw that their wedding had been featured on Rock n Roll Bride, we weren’t very surprised because their wedding was most definitely put together in a way that was totally about them rather than traditions that didn’t mean anything to them. Stacey is definitely a Rock n Roll Bride.

Getting ready

There are so many terrific details in this gorgeous wedding which they based around colour, the 1960s, pom poms and Star Wars!

Ceremony

While not everyone understood their choice of ceremony venue – it was held at CERES Community Environment Park in Brunswisk – it’s a community garden, farm, event space next to Merri Creek. There’s even chickens roaming around. And while it’s not a common wedding location, it is special to Ben + Stacey because they often walked along Merri Creek, and they wanted their wedding to be held locally.

They transformed the gazebo from rustic to colourful and fun with our bright vintage dining chairs, our astro turf runner, a balloon arch that they DIYed, and a gorgeous colourful pom pom backdrop for the ceremony, made by Stacey and her family.

Relaxed, sentimental and joyous is how they describe their wedding ceremony #awwwww

Portraits

Having a vintage wedding doesn’t have to be old fashion and nannery – as shown by this amazing wedding. Metallic pink personalised leather jackets, pink glittery platform shoes, bright colours and balloons helped to create that womderful mix of old and new that gives our Good Day Rentals’ weddings something so unique and special.

Reception

Held at the gorgeous Little Henri’s cafe in Thornbury, Stacey decorated with loads of pom poms, handmade colourful napkins and napkins rings with the couples’ cat on them! You can see the love, fun and joy in this beautiful, colourful Melbourne wedding. Congratulations Ben + Stacey!
