Whimsical Dollhouse Wedding at Collingwood Childrens Farm

If you are looking for someone who is not only very talented at their job but is also super supportive in guiding you through the process, look no further. From the very beginning, Stevie made it clear how important it was that she supported our vision and that she would do all that she could to make that vision a reality. She more than delivered on her promise. Our wedding would not have been as magical if it hadn’t been for Stevie, her artistic eye and professional acumen. Highly recommended!
Stevie did an absolutely stunning job styling our wedding. Meeting Stevie was like meeting a kindred spirit. She sat down with Lewis and I multiple times to get to know us, came to the site with us and sorted through the 500+ inspiration photos we gave her. Stevie is an absolute artist, who saw Lewis and I for who we genuinely are and created a setting that was exactly what we wanted.
I can’t say thank you enough. From day one we completely trusted Stevie and she made all our strange requests happen.
Our dream wedding became a reality because of Stevie ?
‘Lani + Lewis’ Wedding day!

Lani + Lewis are the sweetest people ever and I loved them from the moment we met. Like most modern romances, Lani and Lewis met on Tinder and since then they have done everything together. They bake together, they make together, they’re currently working on renovating a doll house together and they even went to uni to become teachers together. ADORABLE! Lani described their life as ‘lovers living in their our own little bubble with their 2 cats and a heap of cartoons on the TV.’

THE DESIGN
I first met Lani when she came to our warehouse to check out our furniture. When I asked Lani what her style was, she said she wasn’t sure. “It’s a bit of a mix of things”.
We went back and forth for a while before settling on ‘sweet, cute/kawaii, colourful (pastels, rainbows, bright), story book, Alice in Wonderland, Magic Far Away Tree, Cinderella, art exhibition, Sugar Republic, interactive, neon, anime, pop culture, cute little miniatures, kitschy, enchanted, pop surrealism (for art), everything 1940’s, 50’s + 60’s, Harajuku, buttoned up, pastel goth, bright colourful house, wood and greenery, lucky dip club vibes!”
And let me tell you, this was music to my ears! As stylists, we thrive on taking your abundance of ideas and turning them into a super cohesive concept.
I had so much fun coming up with a concept for Lani + Lewis. I wanted to create something that covered EVERYTHING that they love and everything that is totally them. Something beautiful and magical with a pinch of humour too!
I went over all the notes from our meetings, meticulously scrolled through their Pinterest boards, took more notes and saved more ideas, before landing on Whimsical Pastel Doll House Wedding!
I stuck to a colour palette of pastel yellow, peach, pink, purple and blue. These gorgeous pastel candy colours turned the space from a very cute (but very brown) barn into Lani + Lewis’ perfect pastel doll house!

Ceremony set up
We kept the ceremony simple because Lani and Lewis were the stars of the show! Lani’s wore a green tulle dream by Alter it and Lewis, dressed in his Celtic Affairs Kilt Hire suit, also looked super rad! #bestdressedcoupleever
A floral instillation by Luna Moss attached to a beautiful big old tree was the centre piece for the nuptials. Our pastel Pete Benches were used for seating and we created a gorgeous little signing table set-up for the lovers to make it official. This simple, yet magical ceremony setting really set the scene for the rest of the day.

Reception set up
After the ceremony the guests walked up the hill, past a way-finding sign and down to the reception area. Here, guests were greeted by a Lani + Lewis custom neon sign hung on a glitter arch covered in streamers and a bunch of foil balloons.
We wanted to do something fun for the seating chart, so we attached the chart to our pastel pink lockers and had a big floral burst coming out of one of them. Lani + Lewis gave me their favourite magnets and I stuck these all over the lockers, along with some custom illustrated decals.
The table design and decor is where the whimsical comes in. Lush floristry by Luna Moss hovered over and ran along the dining tables while terrariums, lanterns, candles and fairy lights strung amungst the greenery added a magical feel. Hand illustrated table numbers and mini doll house scenes that Lani + Lewis collected together added a pop of colour and quirk to tie the colour palette together.

After dinner, guests were full of food (and love) and ready for the fun part/y! So the party flowed from the dining area, down the stairs and into a super cute, super fun, dance floor area with balloons by The Confetti Room and a streamer installation by Bangin Hangins floating overhead. We also made room for a small lounge area, where guests could rest their legs between dance-offs and share a party pash or two!
Other rad things we crated for this very special day were:
A big vinyl floor decal that included some of their favourite arctic monkey lyrics “I bet that you look good on the dance floor”!
Taking inspiration from ‘Sugar Republic’ (one of Lani and Lewis’ fav interactive spaces) we turned an old sheep pen into a FUN PEN/
doll house bathroom, which included a pastel pink bathtub filled to the brim colourful ball pit balls and cushions, a set of pastel pedestal sinks – one full of popcorn and their favourite lollies and another filled with flowers.
The backdrop behind the bath featured one of our big neon heart signs, as well as a mix of Bangin Hangins streamers and The Confetti Room balloons.
The lounge area had a with a typewriter for guests to write love letters on, and a pinata for them to put the letters in.

Graphic Design
Graphic design and signage is such an excellent way to tie the whole look and feel of the wedding together. For Lani and Lewis we went with custom, hand drawn quirky signage with pops of colour!
I created a design that included things that Lani + Lewis love – dollhouses, skateboarding, picnics, baking, teaching, lyrics to their fav songs, all things kawaii and most importantly, their cats!
Instead of table numbers we opted to name the tables after activities that Lani + Lewis enjoy together.
